Omg I'm so tired. Today has been crazy. I don't even feel like writing, but for you mother, I will. Yesterday 4 girls came from Chile on their way to Machu Pichu. They are rotary students too. I wanted to go to Machu Pichu with them. I am excited to start traveling. The rest of the day I stayed in the house and studied my Spanish or played outside with Jasmine, Luz, and Dayana. We played outside for a couple hours probably. I feel very content here. I was bored just riding a bike around the block over and over again, but then I decided it is good for me to learn to love being bored. I really did. I took in my surroundings and felt the wind. It ended up being really nice. Today I woke up early for seminary, my early morning bible study with Dad and the other youth from my church back home. Skype didn't work as well today. Hopefully it works better tomorrow. Then I went back to sleep for another hour. When I woke up I got ready and left. It was my first time riding a bus. Luz came with me. It was crazy overwhelming. I remember Mom and Dad being so worried about my safety here in Peru. The thing they need to worry about the most is wether or not I will get hit by a bus or something. The drivers here scare me. The bus was a new experience for me. It made me scared kind of just because it was overwhelming. We went to Paola's house. She lives right by the temple. I felt so accomplished to actually know where SOMETHING was in this huge city. I was met there by 2 other exchange students. One was from Canada and the other from France. We then went to a club by the beach. We went swimming and played volleyball. It was so much fun. It was cold for my Texas blood, but still very fun. I still love volleyball so much. It is required to play volleyball here for girls, I've heard. Maybe that means I will get to play when I go to school. That would be awesome!! There. Are. Huge. Sand. Dunes. I had never seen something like this before. I will attach a picture. The other exchange students told me I might as well not even call where I live Peru. They said it is more like America. They said Peru is very 3rd world, nothing like the big huge city I live in. They pointed out some houses up on a hill on the way to the Club. They looked scary. They were very 3rd world. They said "and those are some of the nicer ones". I am blessed to live in Lima I guess. Lima. Is. Huge. So. Big. So. So. Big. I feel like you can drive for hours and still be in Lima. It is never ending. There were 14 of us kids at the club, I think. It was so fun. My face got kind of sunburned, but it's okay. We ate lunch there too. Paola's parents are very nice. I wish I could communicate with them more. When we got back to Paola's house I wanted to die (which we almost did on the car ride home). I was so tired. We took a taxi home!!! They tell me how dangerous they are.. Then we take one.. So maybe only certain brands of Taxis are dangerous. I dunno.
I had that much of my blog entree from yesterday copied thank goodness.
After that point my came home and ate. I was starving and wanted to take a warm shower and sleep. As I was eating my host mom informed me that she wanted to give the next door neighbor a birthday present and wanted me to come with her. I figured I could stand 5 more minutes of being awake. So I sat in the couch and wrote the first part of this blog entree while I waited for my host mom to go to the neighbors. She came out of her room all dressed up. I was so confused. I then realized I was underdressed though. They said I couldn't wear what I was wearing. I thought we were just dropping a present off. So I ran to my room and throw a dress on. I still looked disgusting and burned because I hadn't showered from the pool yet. I failed to put a little makeup on to cover my burn and ran back out of my room. We went next door. When I arrived I saw a friend I had made the other day. I went and sat with her. My mom then informed me I was staying. I was at a party. I thought I was going to drop a present off. I didn't know I was going to go to a party. I. Was. So. Tired. It was already 9:30. Don't get me wrong. My host mom doesn't hate me I could have went home if I wanted to. But I decided to stay and make friends. I made all sorts of new friends. We hung out in the Ping pong room the whole time basically. The neighbor just turned 17 and it was her birthday. She wanted me to spend the night with her and my other friend I met a couple days ago. I was so tired and wanted to shower though. Finally at 11:15 I left. Showered. Slept.
