Wednesday night in Chicaylo was spent taking pictures. In every city in Peru there is a town square. We took a bus after going to a mall in chiclayo. We had eaten at the mall. I also bought a jacket because it got cold at nights. After the mall everyone wanted to go back to the hotel. Our tour guilds liked to pack our days though. Henry had us go to the town square. We ended up having a good time just taking pictures and hanging out in the square. Then we returned to the hotel.

One day in Chicaylo was spent looking at these tombs. I. Loved. It. It was so cool!!!! These are real peoples bodies that have been unburied!!!! It was so cool!!! A bunch of the people had been sacrificed and put in the tombs. People were often sacrificed when they had not had rain in a long time. That was the most common reason. I can't imagine living in a society where sacrifice uccured!!! How strange!!! It was very interesting to learn about and see though!!! Sometimes people were buried with other people in order to "protect them". When a governor died he was buried with his 3 favorite concubines and stuff. They were just buried with strange things and had strange customs!! One was buried with a llama!! Another had her feet cut off before she was buried. That was to symbolize that she could not get out of the tomb. THERE WERE TONS OF TOMBS!! I don't remember how many. At least 15. It was super neat.
